On September 28, 2014 we did the Go Girl Half Marathon in Overland Park, Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City, MO) to check off state number 30. We nearly missed the race due to airline issues. And we learned some things about Kansas….notably it IS NOT flat! Because this was the first of several long races through the Fall, we chose to do it in costume, to remind ourselves to have fun. What could be better in Kansas that Dorothy Gale and Glinda the Good Witch. Costumes were duly assembled, and they did their part to make a wickedly warm and hilly run more fun.
