On August 22, 2008 I ran the Big Dreams 5K in Clear Lake, IA. That weekend we had a celebration of my Grandmother’s life with a family reunion. She had passed away the February before. She would have been 97 on this weekend. I dedicated the running of this race to her. I finished in 38:49.1. Melanie did the race too…and received a standing ovation for completing it.
