On May 1, 2011, New Hampshire became the 8th state to be checked off my list. I ran the Margarita’s 5K run in Exeter, NH that morning. My time was 43:09, which was only 35 seconds off my post-surgery PR. Not bad for a race that was literally all uphill for at least the first half. It was cool and windy, which felt pretty good after the heat we’d been having in Texas! I wore my “Dear God, Please let there be somebody behind me to read this” shirt…which is always a great back of the pack conversation starter (nice, particularly when I have come on my own to do a race).
